Cyclops and Nightcrawler have a discussion as they are watching the Crucible, a ritual that allows a depowered mutant to be killed so that they can be reborn with their powers intact. He goes on to ask Cyclops if he has heard about the wills the mutants of Krakoa have set up for themselves. Essentially, the wills are requests by the mutants on the island to be resurrected as more powerful versions of themselves. Some of the mutants on the island view the resurrection protocols as an opportunity to become the best versions of themselves, or in some cases even better versions. Cyclops points out the problem with mutants thinking this way. Mutants may want to be reborn with combinations of two or even three powers, which would be an even worse escalation.

Each week in X-ual Healing, Bleeding Cool's weekly X-Men recap column, we choose the X-book which that week provided the most satisfying X-Men reading experience, filling one's belly like a juicy sausage grilled by a hairy Canadian with his adamantium claws on a hot Summer day. As we enter the new year of , and a new decade, it's time to look back on and celebrate the X-Men franchise with the Wolverine's Weiner X-Picks of the Year, a grilled-meat-themed honor unmatched in all of comicsdom. Leah Williams clever writing combined with Georges Jeanty's excellent portrayal of mutant emotion and horniness made X-Tremists one of our favorite comics of the year, and we'd love to see this team return for a new series in the Dawn of X. Marvel's X-Men runs have showcased some amazing stories, however, one of the worst, most inappropriate stories ever came in the early 's thanks to Chuck Austen. One of the biggest issues with his run was his writing of Husk and Angel's relationship - specifically, one scene that involved the two mutants having sex in the sky - yes, you read that correctly. It was clear that Jean was sleeping with both men, but it was unclear when her partners were simply in simultaneous relationships with her or if the new love triangle connected at every point. After the opening scene and the title page, the story cuts to the Summer House, where Scott and Logan are spending an early morning together. The latter is kicking back in a light bathrobe while Cyclops is in full costume sans the trademark head-sock. Logan admits that the scenery is hard to pass up, especially Jean in a bikini. Logan laughs and responds: "Hell, who could say no to that? Ultimately, Wolverine has no interest in helping Cyclops process his feelings. Is their intimacy romantic in nature or strictly physical?
